Videos that add Value

Nothing Compares 2 U – Sinead O’Connor

This music video I class as a music video that adds value to the song. This music video features Sinead O’Connor singing, with a close up frame, as well as footage of her walking about the area in Paris. At one moment, Sinead begins to cry as two tears roll down her face. She stated that this was caused by the lyric “All the flowers that you planted, Mama in the back yard/All died when you went away”; due to her complex relationship she had had with her mother. In the 1900 MTV Music Video Award she won Best Female Video.

I think this is an amazing video, which is so intense and simple, yet effective in intriguing the audience. I am currently going to use this effect in my music video, which will hopefully come out as great as it this in Sinead’s music video. it had topped the charts in the UK, Australia and US and is still a greatest hit and rememebered song.
